Look How Far We've Come

Today is Mason's 1st birthday! We had a wonderful party with lots of cake, games, family, and friends. It is hard to believe one year ago today we were blessed with a healthy baby boy, and how much our lives have changed! Mason has brought so much fun, laughter, and love into our lives, Erick and I wouldn't know what to do without him!

But first a picture from Friday at the park... big swing, little boy! He makes me laugh!

Friday at the Dr., still a little guy at 20lb 12oz. Mason is in the 25% for weight and 75% for height! Long and lean!

Mason had a clean bill of health Friday, he is growing great and is a very healthy baby! He is getting another tooth, this one is an upper! And this past week he has taken off with walking, now instead of walking a few steps and falling he is walking across rooms and sitting down and then standing back up to keep going! He says "mommy", "daddy", and we are working on "ball"
He is eating everything now, but his favorites are applesauce, corn, ham, green beans, yogurt, and gold fish. Mason can clap, do "so big" and patty cake with you. He loves giving high fives and kisses. Him and Gunner are really getting to be the best of friends, they keep each other entertained!

Taking it to the streets...

Because of the cold weather Mason was limited to riding his new toy in the family room and kitchen (not very fun), but Sunday the sun was out and it warmed up a little so Erick and I thought he would enjoy cruising around the driveway and the side walk.

He pretty much thinks he is the coolest kid on the block when he rides this!

Friday my sister and I spent all day cutting cupcake toppers out for Mason's part next weekend. While we were working on that Mason and Landon had fun riding the 4 wheeler and playing with toys in the family room. Some of these shots were taken in the morning, I was trying to change Mason and he crawled away from me in just his diaper. I stood there looking at him and got a little sad when I realized that he will be 1, I grabbed my camera to catch him still looking like a baby!

Friday night we had fun hanging out with Meaghan and Greer. My brother in law, Tom, and the guys taste tested beer for Tom's beer blog!

Celebrating Papa

Saturday was my Dad's birthday so the whole family celebrated at Dewey's Pizza in Chesterfield. The food was awesome and the atmosphere was fun! My Dad is so great, he has patience to listen to problems and offers great advice. He really is the most thoughtful and caring Dad a daughter could ask for. We like to show him our love and appreciation whenever we can, Saturday night we did it with pizza and cookie cake!

Special Delivery

Mason got his first gift yesterday. When I brought it inside from the front porch he knew what it was right away and started laughing and beating the box, but we had to wait for Erick to get home and put it together. If you think you have seen this before you are right! Mason rode this while we were in Omaha earlier this month and became very attached...Aunt Kris and Uncle Tom were kind enough to send one down for his 1st birthday gift!

And he's off!! He cracks us up when he rides this, he has no concept of steering yet so he just hits the go button and laughs hysterically until he hits a wall....or a piece of furniture. This will be so fun for him this spring/summer outside where he has more room to ride! Happy (early) birthday to you sweet little boy!

Weekends are the best

This weekend was full of activities for us! Friday night Erick and I went on a date night, while Mason played with Grandma Bev and Grandpa Jim. Saturday Erick and I took Mason to the mall to do a little shopping and ride the carousel then to dinner for some sushi! We ended the weekend with a big splash...

But first a picture of Mason and his new shoes (thanks Boulware's!). They finally fit him!

He loved it at first, then half way through decided he had enough. It went a little faster than we anticipated!

And this afternoon while it was doing this....

We were doing this! Having fun swimming at the Renaud Center in O'fallon. Mason starts swim lessons in a couple weeks so we took him there to test it out first...it was a success

I am a lucky girl to have a husband that works so hard everyday for his family and is such a great role model for Mason. I should tell Erick more often how much we appreciate him and all he does for our family. Happy Valentines Day!
